Leah Clayton

Leah is a junior in Yale College pursuing a B.S. in Earth & Planetary Sciences and a certificate in Energy Studies. She is passionate about climate change mitigation and investigating the evolving interfaces between ecological and geophysical systems. At the CC Lab, Leah studies the factors that influence woody biomass decomposition and forest management practices in the Western US. On campus, she runs the Yale Composting Project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from food waste, leads the Earth & Planetary Sciences undergraduate organization Club Geo, organizes and leads trips for Yale Outdoors, and works for the Office of Sustainability as a student liaison. In her free time, she can be found rock climbing, skiing (preferably in her home state of Colorado), watercolor painting, or off on a long bike ride!
