Helen Horangic

Helen is a student at Brown University interested in finding solutions to the world’s most pressing problems, especially in the areas of climate change and biodiversity. At the Lab, she works on biomass to carbon capture initiatives, informed by her prior experience at a municipal waste to energy startup.

Helen’s nomadic childhood on a sailboat inspired her passion for sustainability and the preservation of our planet. That early exposure to many different cultures also sparked a deep interest in human behavior, leading her to pursue a double major in economics and sociology. In her free time, Helen enjoys learning new skills. Most recently: Japanese flower arrangement (ikebana), traditional Venetian boat-building, and driving 18-wheelers.
