Austin Strayhorn serves as an Analyst at the Carbon Containment Lab.
After graduating from Yale College in 2019, Austin began working with the Yale Carbon Offset Group to develop Yale’s verified carbon offset program–a portfolio of verified greenhouse gas reductions. Austin was introduced to systems thinking at an ecological-scale through a semester of study in savanna ecology with a team of researchers based in Kruger National Park, South Africa. His senior essay assessed the potential of collective property regimes and management practices to produce positive socio-ecological outcomes for human forest communities involved in environmental commodities markets.
Prior to working in sustainable finance, Austin received a Bachelor of Arts in Ethics, Politics & Economics from Yale University in 2019.
