Ella Holme is a geochemist who uses experimental methods to investigate the chemistry of carbonate mineral formation and dissolution, as well as the relationship between these processes and the evolution of the global carbon cycle. She is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Yale University and earned her Ph.D. from Stony Brook University, where her research focused on combining experimental techniques, novel stable isotope analysis, and geochemical modeling to study the chemical and environmental conditions that led to the formation of carbon-rich minerals on early Earth and Mars. Currently, her research focuses on the chemical reactions behind enhanced mineral weathering for the development and optimization of carbon capture technology.
